Muse 3 is nearly finished. All the quilting is done - it is pink on the purple/blue areas and I have followed on the design in the quilting on the white areas. Except over the 'frame' areas. The edge is bound. All that is left now is to hand sew the cording around all the edges.

The 'embroidery' element of Muse 2 is complete. Now I need to join the pieces together. The stitching is paler on the top row, mid tone for the middle row and darker for the bottom row. To give you an idea of the scale of this piece I have taken a photo of the pieces laid out next to the original Muse (which is roughly A3, although almost square).

For the last 10 years I have been growing and harvesting lavender from one bush in my garden and today I decided it was time for this years harvest as the bush is so overgrown that it is leaning and pushing my rosemary bush down.... close up. My plan for MUSE 1 is to work on a combination piece - to sort of translate this rough design, using colour but using zentangles for stitch texture, and finally 'quilting' the whole thing. My birthday was last weekend and although I did not see my son I did visit my daughter - not a card not a present - I was a little upset/confused but did not question it. So I have not been able to do any work recently... my house is not only full of my daughter, her stuff and the puppy but this week her boy friend has moved in too with all his stuff as the house they were going to move into is not going to be ready until November!! Over the last few weeks I have been busy - Last weekend it was a couple of days at Urchfont with Textile 21 and then yesterday I had another day with Jane Lemon. So I have achieved quite a lot for Oberon's doublet. There is a lot more to do yet and then there are the breeches (need to rust dye lots more cotton for those - I have metres and metres of rust dyed fabrics but no cotton to match the

...... Rocky is growing on me!!! NOOOOOOO shock horror - having done this... (actually now both shelves have been chewed worse than this) he now spends his 'alone time' in this..... (and seems happy there too!) - is this a case of shutting the stable door ??As I say he is growing on me - we still go for long walks and you must admit when he looks at you like this.... doesn't your heart melt?

Last Saturday I spent another great day with the two Janes - we went to Glastonbury to see the Sacred Textiles exhibition and the Avalon embroiders guild exhibition. As you can see the weather changed to blue skies and it became lovely and warm... The Sacred Textiles exhibition was brilliant - a few very select beautiful pieces - The Avalon exhibition was nice but not my thing - a little too old
