The last couple of days have been blue and white! I made 4 postcards for a blue and white swap but it has taken me longer than I anticipated as the process was not going according to my plans. I cut up a box of blue and white fabric pieces, stitched them to my favourite very fine wool gauze. Then threw the piece in the wash in the hope that it would shrink up and crinkle like the texture treats of previous mails. Well, despite using hot water in the wash not enough shrinkage occurred. To try and make it look better I covered it with white twinkle nylon and stitched in random squares etc - zapped it with the heat gun and it looked a bit better. To finish off I free machined again and then a few hand stitches in straight stitch, chunky yarn and they are done. Nicely random - very artistic! There was a little bit of fabric left so I made a quick ATC!
I also received a blue and white postcard in the post from Nancy for the same swap - it is so much neater and more controlled than mine. Thanks Nancy.

Anna, I was tickled to see my blue and white card on your blog. I can't wait to get yours. I envy those who can create such lovely art creations...mine are very blah compared to yours.
I like your idea on these. It looks like a great way to use up some scraps also.
