Now that I have stopped with the displacement activities - the four loaves of bread are baked and the chicken dinner is prepared, the blogs are all read and the daft quizzes finished so now I am about to get back to art work ! I have rinsed out the latest lot of rust dyeing and the results are good , even if I say so myself....
A few days ago I stitched some snippets of fabric in purple orange and yellow (left overs from my homework of the other day) with a chiffon layer on top - not knowing why I stitched the piece I decided to see if it would rust..The front has not come out much different - just rather, muted, dull but the cotton back is lovely and rusty!
Then there were several pieces of cotton

They're all lovely! Rust takes on knits as well, whether natural or man made. Perhaps you could stitch them all together and make a large piece?
Lovely Anna, can't wait to see what you do with them.
anna, I just found your blog, your rust pieces are incredible. I have been playing with rust this summer but I think I need to try again! Love the results you are getting, thanks for sharing your photos. Linda T
How about a giveaway on your blog... ok, that's wishful thinking. Honestly, I don't know how best to use them, but they sure are pretty to look at!
Anna, I am glad I am not the only one who struggles to think what to do with the wonderful results of rust dyeing. Lesley
A very interesting process. I like how the rust dying blended the colors and the back is very entriguing.
Love the rust pieces. The textured effect is great!
