Sunday night and I am exhausted and worried/upset!!
It all started to go wrong on Thursday evening really - I went out for a meal with some friends and part way through eating a mouth full of rise half a tooth fell out- a substantial piece!. I had to visit the dentist on Friday morning as an emergency - even at my age I am really scared of the dentist - I have a major phobia (I took 4 Kalms but they did nothing) and arrived at the dentist crying and shaking. She was lovely (She knows me well and was waiting to see me straight away) and instead of doing a temporary emergency fix she kindly rebuilt my tooth with a substantial filling . She said normally she would not need to give an injection to numb the site as there was tooth to hold the new filling to, but I had 4 injections as I have an extremely low pain threshold. Since then the new tooth has felt really big - it feels like there is a piece sticking out into the inside of my cheek and I know I will have to go back on Monday for something to be done to re-shape it. I have had a really uncomfortable mouth since.
Then on Friday night I drove up to Derby to help my son bring virtually all the contents of his rented house back down to mine. He is going to be away in Wales for the month of November training and then going to Germany for six months. So two car loads of stuff down on Sat morning. Then this afternoon as he was driving back to Derby (until Tuesday) he had a minor car accident some 65 miles from here. So I drove to get him - his car went one way and we went in a different direction to the nearest rail station for him to get back to Derby! More driving for me. His car does not look too bad - he hit a curb and we think he may have damaged the rear suspension. Thankfully he was unhurt and the car should not cost too much! With hindsight he should have taken a train from here to Derby in the first place as his intention is to leave his car with me when he goes to Germany.
Half an hour after I reached home my daughter sent me a text message to say she is in the A&E dept of her local hospital in London! She has damaged her Coccyx - So I am now waiting to hear from them both. I love my children so much and feel so helpless and somewhat useless! Having said that people say things usually happen in 3's so that should be it for now!

well, you certainly know how to pack all the health concerns into a few short days! Hope that the coming week is a restful one for you all to recover fully in. :-)
Oh my goodness, what a lot of trials for you, i hope all are well for you and they stay firmly rooted to give your frazzled nerves a rest. Hope you get a good nights sleep.
Wow Anna! What a weekend - not the sort you wanted I'm sure. I don't like the dentist either so I can certainly sympathize. I am at that age where all the fillings I had as a child have deteriorated and I am having much the same sort of problems as you had. I hope all is well with your daughter, the coccyx is not a grand place to experience pain. Will keep you and your family in my thoughts.
Hi!
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Kids really do cause both our greatest happinesses and our greatest fears.
Susan
I hope this week is better for you - sorry to hear it was such a bad weekend.
Anna, what a dreadful few days you have had. I'm thinking of you and sending you positive thoughts. I hope both you and your children are soon fully recovered. Take care of yourself.
I'm with you I HATE the dentist, I have to be dragged kicking and screaming (well not quite but you get the idea).
I do hope your son and daughter recover from their misadventures and no more emergency visits to the dentist for you.
You are right, "What a Weekend!" I'm sorry it couldn't be in a good way. Any one of those would put me over the edge. You are in my prayers.
