Frustration Relief

When you have had a really frustrating (angry making) week at work (temporary job that is- I won't bore you with details!) what better way of releasing that frustration - machining like crazy!!! This little piece (quiltlet) has really helped me today. It measures A4 in size and is a piece of very old home dyed cotton (with a felt wadding and calico back). I machined my rough shapes (same as the black velvet piece in a previous post - still not finished). I then set too filling in the spaces with my favourite zentangle fillings - sorry the colour looks different in the evening light. I used black cotton and really enjoyed machining over and over again especially the area on the left. It's lovely close up as the black shapes really stand out. Here is a close up so you can see it is really machine stitched and not drawn with a pen - oh and for more proof here is a small bit of the back. I will edge it now, somehow????
I sure feel better!!

That looks zentanglish great. I also love stitching like this. You can let your mind wander and calm down and just enjoy the humming of the machine.

Seeing this, I'm ashamed to have posted my pitiful effort...

An amazing piece. I really need to learn how to use my sewing machine. I know I could lose several hours with this kind of play.

I'm glad you are feeling better xJ

I love the way this!! The "doodling" (is that even a word? I hope you get what I mean..) effect of your stitching is just great!

Stitching really can be the best therapy - I hope that you have a better week at work this week!
