It's becoming a bit of a compulsion - this postcard making and I'm also enjoying making felt by hand using the bubble wrap method. It is both a great way to relieve the stress of my work day and so relaxing. This postcard made 1st Feb started out as a very fine pre-felt measuring about 10 inches by 8 inches. With a few pieces of white twinkle nylon dotted about.
I stitched herringbone stitch (it could I guess be used for the TAST challenge??) using brown and gold yarn in a very random and loose way. Then felted to my hearts content until the piece had shrunk to just a little over 6 x 4. You can see the stitches have formed such lovely curls as they embedded themselves. Obviously the colours were quite bright as I took this photo whilst the piece was wet.

Anna -
First of all, I love your work! Your blog is always SO inspiring!
Second, I'm married to a Brit even though I'm an American. I have his Auntie's sewing machine - but I cannot use it. If you were thinking of coming over here for a convention, you might want to consider renting a sewing machine for your stay. The UK ones don't play nice with our electricity!
Most conventions offer machine rental as part of their services.
I hope you get to come and play on our side of the pond soon.

Lovely Summer colours!!
wow Anna, looks like marble, really like this effect. how does the bubble wrap method differ from regular felting?
Well if you came to the US and took a class where I was going to be I'd certainly loan you one of my spare machines to use! For some reason your blog fell off my bloglines, now I have some reading to catch up on, you've been busy! Love this postcard by the way.
