Experiments

The iron had a good scrub but is still not quite good enough -not sure what else to use to make it better. Thankfully it's the one I use for embroidery etc. def. not clothes!! Next a lovely blue postcard from Kate - she has used so many lovely blue things to create it and it arrived nude -postman loved it too!!
Next - whilst clearing up I found two bags of buttons - on the outside it says there are over 3,500 in each bag and they weigh over 1 pound each - whatever had I intended to do with these???
Next my latest purchase from Ebay USA - you Americans have such great stuff and at such bargain prices even with postage you can beat any UK supplier! - These are Inkabilities in Earthtones and the Metallics range. Also a set of Perfect Pearls.I laid out two sets of the washers and two sets of buttons and painted each set with the three new items to see if the colours work on metal and buttons. One set will go into a note book for reference (never done that before!!)
The top row of Inkabilities Earthtones does not seem to work very well. They may be better when dry but the others seem to be taking OK.

Oh very cool, like the colours on the buttons particularly. Don't you know that a girl can never have too many buttons!!!!!

Re Iron
If you can get Bounce dryer sheets, lay one over the edge of your ironing board and rub the base of the warm iron over that. Gunk disappears like magic.

You never know when you'll need a button, my Mum has a tin full that must be over 40 years old. Love the colours you've used on the washers.

Love the colored buttons and washers. I think you may have found the beginning of a use for all those buttons.

I don't know if you have it in the UK, but I have heard good things about Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser for cleaning irons. I havn't tried it on the iron, but it works great taking marker off the walls.
