Post 200 - are things on the UP??

When I awoke this morning I thought I need to change my life around. I've been divorced for 5 years now, I kept myself to myself and I guess I've felt alone during this time (he left me). The kids are great as they call my house home even though neither are here much, as they have both grown up. I have become a bit of a recluse, frightened of crowds and definitely scared of going places alone. So today I took my first step to get over this. At my age I have to do something - I don't want to end up stuck at home, old and miserable. This may sound daft but I have wanted to go to the cinema for ages and usually had to wait for my daughter to be home - by then I would have missed the film I wanted to see. So today I decided to go to the cinema alone! I have wanted to see Enchanted since I saw a preview - Patrick Dempsey is to die for!!! (check out this link!!) (drool drool). This was such a great experience - I loved the film - it is such great fun and I felt fine in myself so I stayed at the cinema and watched The Golden Compass too!!!!!
When I got home I decided to do some art work - mostly sorting out the homework really!! Here are photos of yesterday's rust dyed fabrics:

The one below shows the can impressions rather well - you can see the circle base and the edge as well as the stripes.

Even the man made lace has come out stripey!
The two below are close ups of the one above - it is rather long, muslin (cheesecloth) and has lovely colour graduations - pale at the top and dark at the bottom. I just love it.
As this is post 200 should I be preparing something special like a challenge? Not sure - any ideas???? Actually I really want to say THANK YOU to all of you who have read the 200 ramblings I have written, for your support, encouragement and good wishes. I LOVE YOU ALL!

Congratulations on 200 posts Anna! And on going to the cinema! I similarly have never gone to see a film on my own. I shall have to challenge myself too! Your rust dying with the can is wonderful. I have quite a few pieces of rusty metal just waiting for me to dye with it.

Well done on post 200 and on being so brave, small steps are the biggest to take so really well done. Love the rust results.

Well done you on going out on your own. It is a big step, but the cinema is great as it is dark so no one can stare at you for being alone.
You get to have a fun time too.
Don't forget to do it again soon.

hope you enjoyed the movies! It is a big hurdle to overcome but your right, putting your life on hold waiting for someone else to do things you like with, is not the answer :-)

The strips remind me of a tiger rug...

Congrats! on the 200 posts and good for you getting out and seeing a movie. I enjoy going to an afternoon movie by myself. Going to a coffee shop with a book is also a favorite "me date" - taking care of ourselves is the most important thing!
