More on Klimt

Thanks for your comments on my sample spirals. I did make a cord yesterday and look it matches beautifully.... (big head swelling - of course it would match I'm soooo clever !!!! and modest!!). I did paint/stamp a few pages in my sketchbook as backgrounds - here is one rather pale example - I hate waiting for paint to dry - some are ready today for more work... When I first started looking at Klimt a few years ago I was impressed with my discovery about two paintings - namely 'The Expectation' and 'The Fulfilment' - otherwise known as The Embrace. Here they are side by side - my discovery was (as you can see) that the background is actually a mirror image - I have done more research and there is the possibility that they were originally one canvas which he cut into two to make more money! If you look carefully at 'Expectation' you can actually see original pencil marks in the background where the spirals were different. I love this type of discovery. I am going to play with these connected spirals in a while but think I will create my large base fabric first. I find if the part started garment is on the mannequin (like the HH rust costume) I work better. Let's get started..

Interesting studies. I like spirals quite a lot too. You can use a heat gun or hair dryer to zap paint and help it dry, you know. It works on watercolor, acrylic, and on stamping inks. Be careful with acrylic paints not to get them too hot or they'll bubble up.

Your catalogues look great!
