About time - a change

Today I enrolled on a new course - yep I have just enrolled on an evening course entitled - Drawing and Watercolour Painting - Getting Started !! At my local college - we start in late September !! Why??? I know I am a textile artist but when I was little I was told I could not draw and to go something else - hence the textiles. Now I think it is really time to learn to draw properly - I want to be able to go to museums etc and sketch the things I like - not just take thousands of photos - Maybe this will help get me out of the rut I am in. I am not so sure about the 'watercolour' bit but hey I am going to start with an open mind!! Wish me luck!!

Good for you Anna! I want to take a drawing class as well but just haven't found one in the evenings. I have been working on improving my drawing skills from a book but I think that a class would be so much better. Hope you have fun!

Good luck, but most of all ENJOY!
Everyone can draw, it just takes practice. The more you do it the better you will get! Hope you have fun and gain confidence

Oh I recently got a a watercolour book from library called Watercolour Textures by Ann Blockley which shows watercolours in a WHOLE different way and i would highly recommend.

Have fun with your drawing class Anna and well done for taking the plunge. Carolyn's right, everyone can draw, it is a skill and you can learn it. Practise is definitely the key and the person who told you you couldn't draw should be ashamed of themselves.

Brilliant!!!! I can so...... identify with you, I was thinking of doing the same thing.
I so much enjoyed the experience of trying to keep a visual journal on holiday that I'm hungry for more, and I too was told at school that I'd never be able to draw and so have always wanted to.
You've inspire me to see what my local adult Ed can offer this year.
Good luck, look forward to seeing your progress.
