Starting 2011 with odds and ends!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY BLOGGING FRIENDS. The end....So the cord is progressing almost at the end now - I am now on the third pass on the machine - stitching from the ball on the left to the ball on the right in the pic below. I will be working on slashing the breaches later today whilst watching Downton Abbey - such a great drama.
The odd.... I wanted to mention... Christmas leftovers.... My kitchen was well stocked for the festivities but I have been left with quite a few parsnips (which I only really like roasted and it seems silly to roast parsnips for 1) and I also had quite a bit of Stilton cheese - which is definitely NOT something I like. However - whilst Internet surfing this morning I found a recipe for Parsnip and Stilton Soup - (click here to go to the recipe). Nothing ventured...... I did substitute a small blob of sour cream for the whipping cream and skipped the wine. THIS soup is absolutely delicious - I am on my second bowl full!!
