So close the the end of January but I have a zillion postcard ideas - I did not realise that postcard making would take over my life as much as it has. I may have to carry on into Feb. I want to find an idea that I can make into something bigger but for now 6 x 4 is great. Great for sampling, using up old pieces and generally having a lot of fun. I like sharing these too, both as pictures on this blog and when the mood takes me as various swaps. Marilyn M I will be sending you postcard 1 from day 26 if that is OK.
To yesterdays set then.... These three are made using the same technique but each one is just a little different. The centre panel of each is made from paper.... I've taken four or five magazine pages - the shiny front covers - piled them in a stack and then on each panel stitched squares, rectangles or square spirals . Then I wet the pieces and gently rubbed away some of the paper layers. Painted the surface with four or five different two-tone metallic paints in some places and stitched a few straight stitches by hand. To one I added some small bronze beads. These may just be the idea I need...
