Still Creating but not Textiles!

Todays piece of creative art is for my daughter Emma.

She is 20 on Tuesday and every year for the past 19 of those 20 years she has insisted that I make her a hedgehog birthday cake - the cake is called Harriet. Emma has left now to go back to Uni and taken Harriet in a box....Below is this years Harriet !!!!!

I spent a while in the garden today hoping to get rid of some snails. Whilst looking for them can you see the garden friend I found? Isn't it cute - I used to have a tiny 'pond' in an old terracota bowl but that broke. So I am not too sure where my friend has come from.
Then there was time to take a couple of photos of my blue Iris - these did not flower last year but obviously feel it is warm enough for this year.

Followed by two pictures of the blossom on the Cherry tree at the end of my garden. The blossom is white and there is loads of it - not a good picture as, although the sun has practically set, it is still very light in the sky.
We are going to run out of space in the garden so here is a pic of the shelf which Emma has made for me (I put it up) to take some of the pots of herbs when they are slightly larger. And finally - more veg... I had to pot up some of the tomato seedlings as the instructions say - 'thin out and discard unwanted seedlings leaving the quantity you require'. I can't discard anything !! Especially as I have helped them grow !! So I potted them all up!! I will only have space for 9 plants - that's three in three grow bags, so friends, neighbours and my relatives will be getting tomato plants as gifts - as there are 69 of them!!!! Next year I will be a bit more careful about the number of seeds I sow!!

What a wonderful mama you are!! And what a fantastic cake!!!! Sadly I'm not a baker - so for the past seven years, my kids have asked for an M&S caterpiller cake on their birthdays...
Love the new banner, by the way :o)
