Bank Holiday Sunday

Blogging is so hard these days - I am still finding life in general tough. Work is busy but much more fun now. The garden is taking virtually all my 'me time'. Below are pics of the Irises (one dark blue and the other is pale blue) I have in the garden at the moment . They are just lovely
and then the other pic is my Clematis - it has just started to flower - (as I am Polish) it had to be the Clematis Westeplatte ! Named to commemorate the heroes of the 1st armoured brigade of the Westerplatte peninsula at the Gdansk Bay. During the period between the First and the Second World War there was a Polish military unit at the border of Gdansk City. On the 1st September 1939 (4 a.m.) an armoured German battleship "Schleswig-Holstein" bombarded Westerplatte and this event marked the beginning of the Second World War. Polish Westerplatte unit, numbering 182 soldiers, defended it against overwhelming Nazi forces for 7 days. Since then Westerplatte has become to symbolize soldiers' heroism.
Then below this is an update on the herb shelf and the latest lettuces in the grow bag. The veg in general is doing well!!

This time last year I was getting ready to go on my holiday of a life time - a trip down the Nile ! - it seems more than just a year ago. Yesterday during a cheer us up bit of retail therapy Emma and I popped into a travel agent to see if there might be a destination for a city break - we have fancied going to either Barcelona or Florence. Flicking through a brochure we looked at the 'rest of the world' page and Marrakesh jumped out of the page at us. So we booked!!!!!!! We are off at the beginning of June for 7 nights in a 4* hotel at an amazing cost of £600!!!!!! (that's together not each!!) I can't wait! Something to look forward to.

Now I'm off to read the 75 blogs that have been stacking up for me and I may try some drawing in preparation for my mandala.

Fantastic garden, those irises are such beautiful colours.

Have a wonderful time in Marrakesh, and hope your life sorts itself out soon so you can do more art ;)

hugs, Linda.

Anna - your garden is your therapy at present and you seem to be working some magic on it as everything is blooming beautifully.
I envy you having this wonderful space to be in.
