Embellisher

Ok
So I'm thinking about buying an embellisher having broken the only felting needles I had. If enough people sign up for the Historical Heirlooms course then I may also 'NEED' one to distress fabrics. I have heard of several machines but have no valid opinions of the best one, advantages etc Can any of you help?
I have heard of
Husquvarna Huskystar
Janome Xpression
Pfaff 350p (Only just launched)

Any advise?

I have just purchased the Husquvana
Huskystar and I was told(by a dealer) that it and the Pfaff are the same machine only the name is changed.
They are much quieter than the Janome and the needles are replaceable unlike the Janome.
Hope that helps Anna.

Hi Anna,
I'm thinking about buying an embellisher too. I asked the same question on my blog the other day and some ladies were kind enough to share some advise. Here's a link to the post http://fabthreads.blogspot.com/2007/06/shopping-around.html

I only can tel you about the babylock embellisher I love the machine it is strong and hase 7 needles the needels can be replaced one at a time and you can use 1 to 7 needles it is a great machine

Mine is also a Babylock and like Emmy I too think it is a great machine. The fact you can change the needles one at a time is a plus, on some machines you can't. You really do need to do your research Anna before you splash out. Why not wait until the shows start and you can try most of them then and possibly get them at show price - thats how I got mine.

I was recently at Urchfont for my Distant Stitch Summer School with Sian Martin. We had Maggie Grey as a guest tutor and she brought along her embellisher and we had use of the college's machines. They were Babylock and Maggie said they were much better than others she had tested for her recent book with Val Campbell-Harding. Hope this helps
