A wasted day and more lovely post

I decided to take a day off work today to go Christmas shopping - I have had so few days off I was really looking forward to some me time and gift buying time. I hate shopping for myself but I just love buying for other people, but what a wasted day! Got up very early, drove for 1.5 hours, found a parking space no problem, shops had only been open for 30 minutes! The problem was I could find nothing I wanted to buy! When I say nothing I mean NOTHING. Shops here are full of such tat at Christmas time. Wish I was overseas - I remember shopping in real German markets and having the gifts wrapped beautifully as a matter of course. The UK should take a look at Continental Europe at this time of year!! Arrived back home at 4.30pm. I should have stayed home and been creative instead. Now I feel tired and grumpy!!

Something did cheer me up though - and that was today's lovely post! THANKS Fiona - this is such a clever piece of work. I love the way the beads at the bottom move around and the weaving is delightful. This is truly stunning! You say you used a lot of the fabric - do have enough for yourself or would you like some more??

Fiona did a great job with her rust piece. Very pretty and creative indeed.

I don't like shopping either. Sadly, my shopping trips usually turn out like yours and I think I would be better off ordering online.

Hi Anna - Just popped over to see what you've been up to. Enjoyed reading your last couple of posts - you've had some great postcards etc. lucky you. Shame about your rotten shopping day today - good thing is you didn't spend any money on tat! Val

Wow another beautiful piece!
It is so frustrating shopping at this time of year, isn't it? I hate it. Sometimes I think it would be better to give gift vouchers - depends who you are buying for of course. A local coach company here sells gift vouchers to use on their trips so I've bought those for a couple of friends.

I love the pieces that you have received from your challenge Anna-
it is amazing what people have done with the fabric.

I'm so glad you like the piece! I'm always nervous sending stuff! If you have another bit of fabric I wouldn't say no.....
