300th POST !!

When you consider I have been blogging since 22nd October 2006 getting to my 300th posting is not really a great achievement! I have had over 25,000 visitors though - so thanks for visiting !! Re -reading some of my posts is really depressing - boy have the last couple of years been a roller coaster of events.Anyway we must look forward not back.

I have just put together a simple birthday card for a special friend. This is made with dark blue velvet (the stretchy kind) with a layer of gold painted bondaweb with a couple of simple rows of machining and topped off with three tiny pieces of embossed 'shrink' plastic shapes. I hope she likes it. Whilst in this minor creative mood and to 'Celebrate' my 300th I have made two 'bookmarks' which I will now offer in a very small giveaway.... this is how they started.. scrap pieces of my rust and indigo fabrics with builders scrim and pieces of tea dyed lace. Then I threw loads of stuff on them - mascara (great way of using up old stuck mascara to highlight), markel oil sticks, various types of paint and rub-ons. Finally finishing off with some beads!
Sorry the pics are so dark - the pieces are really a little lighter. One measures 2" x 8.25", the other 2 x 6.5". If you would like to have one of these please just do the usual and leave a comment by Wednesday 6th August. I will pick 2 names from the list - the first will receive the longer 'bookmark' and the second name - obviously the shorter. (should anyone respond that is - if not - I am happy to keep and use myself!!)

So, now you tell me that I shouldn't have tossed the mascara in the trash a few days ago! I stood for the longest time over the trash can trying to figure out what I might be able to do with it. If I only would have known! Beautiful card and would sure love a bookmark!!

Yes please Anna, you can never have too many bookmarks to go with the 'never to many books', they are lovely.
Glad to see your 'muse' is making and apperance, love the paniers. I have just finished reading Norah Waugh's Corsets & Crinolines. Looks like the soul journal is great therapy, it's very tempting start one. Looking forward to seeing yours progress.
