Needlecase

I have used the same needle case for 40 years (YES 40). My grandmother gave me this as part of my first sewing kit, as in MY kit as opposed to the bits I used to borrow before that. If I ever need a needle I know that if I look for the green felt - it has always been easy to find. I did once try another case (many years ago) but lost that somewhere in the studio and this green felt always pops up when I need it. As you can see it is just one piece of green felt with the word 'needles' embroidered at the fold - there is a yellow stitched dot in the middle - this used to be an eye - it was a drawing of some animal's head - I could never work out if it was meant to be a cat or a seal - still the drawing has worn off. I think Babcia had bought it at her church jumble sale or fair. Only now after all this time it is not only the face that is worn out but the felt itself - I can put a new 'special' needle into the case and the next time I look it's missing, only to turn up somewhere like half way up the stairs!!! Needle slip out all the time. You can see why - Imagine my relief today when I found a piece of white felt (in the mess) just the perfect size to make a 'page' inside my beloved needle case. Now it will last for another 40 years!!Don't forget the giveaway in the last post - there are only 16 comments so far and I need 100 - I may have to give in and do the draw anyway for those true followers!! Thanks to you all for your support over the last 500 posts!!
