Last Weekend - Oberon and Peaceblossom

So getting up at 5am is a side effect of depression - I would rather have sleeping longer but never mind!! Update on last weekend as promised. I had a brilliant time with the other members of MEG - they are so encouraging, enthusiastic and I would just love to spend all day every day with them!! I work so much better when I am in their company!! I worked on both Oberon and Peaceblossom - Oberon was put together (here is a mid progress shot) now I am working on samples for the slashing - YES I AM MAKING SAMPLES - I seem to be doing more sampling the more I work!! Then on to Peaceblossom - she started out pink but I felt that at a size 6 this would be a little small - my bodyform is not small enough anyway and it would be easier if the background was green... so I dyed and re cut a green version..... I may use the pink for something else. Then on to the flowers... I had foolishly taken my fabrics home so only had some spare white cotton to try out a sweet pea flower... For the moment (whilst I am not sleeping in the afternoon sunshine) I am working on my commission - the sample was accepted and in fact admired by the other members of MEG too!! So back to the machine before the sun comes round to my back garden.
(In New York,
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of,
There’s nothing you can’t do,
Now you’re in New York,
these streets will make you feel brand new,
the lights will inspire you,
lets here it for New York, New York, New York-
sorry keep singing thanks to Alisha Keys for the lyrics!!!!!!!)

Your Oberon costume looks fantastic and I like the green (such a lovely shade) version for Peachblossom.
I am up very early too for a Saturday due to work problems. So I am now off to try and do some stitching before meeting some of the girls from Fen Edge. We are going to Maldon to see the venue where we are holding our exhibition in September.
