Cuffs

So - what do you do with your left over threads - I am an avid collector of snippets of thread - have collected every thread I have snipped off a project for years..... So what do you do with all these.....
well - you lay them out, sandwiched between water soluble fabric, like this
or like this
or my favourite like this... then you stitch, heavily stitch... like this
or like this
or like my favourite like this.....
and what do they become? Well you need to wash out the soluble fabric leaving just the thread and you have.... This
or this
or my favourite.

I have put one of them on Etsy and intend making lots more - they are just thread with a few tiny snippets of ribbon - no backing fabrics and no stiffener - the water soluble does hold the shape well.

Fabulous cuffs and good luck in your shop selling them. I keep my threads too and use them with the embellisher machine and sometimes with trapunto - good effects can be achieved.

Nice! What a great use of all those snippets of cotton and when I think of all those loose ends Ive thrown away - what a waste. But I do keep all my tiny bits of fabric (note to myself - must do something with them in 2012)
