Queen jacket complete - skirt progress

The Queen's jacket is complete,

- the bodice is complete except for the addition of a heart.
The front of the Queen of Hearts skirt is progressing well - the pieces are laid out, covered with organza and ready for stitching
You can see how the organza will knock back the bright white and yet retain the contrasts.

I have just found your blog - after you left a comment on mine (thank you for that). And what a wonderful construction. What/who are you making the Queen of Hearts outfit for? It looks quite stunning - and did you make the pattern?

I am not really a dress maker now (i have done plenty in my time) but Son No 1 is a menswear designer so I do have to turn my hand from time to time.

I have added you to my 'follows' so I can keep up with how this progresses.

BTW - what's the day job?

I think I mentioned that I was aware of someone in Deptford making a living from Fancy Dress costume. Well, here you go http://www.prangsta.co.uk/.

Bit 'Tim Burton' if you ask me, but clearly not a one man band!
