Stuck

I have been so tired during the week that I have not done any art work - again !! This seems to be the theme at the moment.

Now I am sitting looking at last weekends fabric and thinking - do I
1) make another bodice - because I like making them and the ideas flow but I don't think I would ever sell one or
2) do I make something else (like a book wrap/notebook) because they are quick, easy and would probably sell?

I think the bodices would sell. I have seen some corsety type things on ETSY. But they might be more of a niche market, have you thought about trying to find a gallery to exhibit them as a body of work, would be a good advert for you and your work? We have some small galleries in Wales, Mission in Swansea, and the Model House in Llantrisant, that are smaller and do profile exhibitions of designers, I think they would look great in a space like this? Maybe you have something similar? It is a beautiful and striking body of work?

I think we make things because we have a deep set need to create. Unless you particularly want to top up supplies of quick and easy items for sale, why not go with the flow of ideas for bodices while they are there? I love these bodices and think they look very wearable.

Maybe do both? Make the bodices, then use those ideas/surfaces/left-overs to make more saleable items?
I agree with Carol that you need to find the niche for your bodices, but meanwhile, it's good to make some cash for more supplies...
