Klimt bodice is finally finished

IT'S FINALLY FINISHED... Usually I work in a sketchbook - keeping my notes and samples as work progresses but this time I have written an 18 page set of notes on this bodice. Putting the photos straight into the document - when I print it out it will be a booklet style record of the creation of the Klimt Bodice, and it will be stored with the folder of samples. I originally started with the Klimt like fabric samples on a course back 25th August 2007 - these were discovered again on Tuesday 14th October 2008 - this was the date I started this bodice!! SO it has taken me very, very nearly a whole year to complete!!! I did leave it for ages when I was stuck but now I can proudly say it is finished.

Over the last couple of days I have been hand edging the bodice and today I applied the eyelets - this is the job I find the most scary - if they go wrong the whole garment is ruined. Anyway they went well and as you can see I even painted them to help blend them with the fabric. Next I made the lacing cord and it was done... So here is......(drum roll please)....the Klimt bodice...................
PS - it does stick out a little at the sides as it is meant to be worn over a full skirt - in case you wonder!! So what next???

WOW - what a stunning piece. I love all the detail and the subtle colours. Will you be displaying it somewhere for people to look at?

Nice to see the finished product...does it now need one of your fabulous skirts to set it off? Still coming to grips with technology. How on earth do I ensure that my blog has acomments button?? Help???
