Before I crawl back to my sick bed....

Just in case you were worried about the fact that I have not been here for a while I thought I crawl in to say I am here .....just.... I have been struck by the dreaded Swine Flu and am currently poorly sick at home, about to crawl back into bed. But before I do I wanted to say I have been busy since I last wrote -been to drawing class and also had a great weekend at Urchfont with one of the groups I belong to - lots of ideas brewing from that weekend - although at the start I was horrified at the idea of working yet again making silk paper (I know Maggie Grey has mentioned it too!!) - I have actually got a large stack of pieces to be worked on!

Since then I have also started two more new projects but wanted to ask WHAT IS MY CURRENT OBSESSION WITH SPIRALS ALL ABOUT??? Making 'new' fabrics as I have been from scraps recently when I start to free machine I seem only to be able to stitch spirals!! WHY OH WHY? Most of my current projects have been covered in spirals - why can't I stitch any thing else????? Here.... is the latest piece - started as this 'sandwich' - over stitched with matching cotton....(difficult to see).... burnt back and over stitched with metallic silver (here you can see the work in progress so you can see the original matching cotton under the silver) and here is what it currently looks like. There is more to happen to this piece but I am too ill to work and too ill to tell you more. See you again in a few days when I am better and working again.

What a downer - hope it's soon over. Perhaps a break will clear up the spiral block.

Oh, NO. Please feel better soon -- and don't push it. Nurture yourself, even after you are up and around.
