Partly rescued disaster

As my fabric has not turned out as I expected - in so far as I can't burn it back and it stains my sewing machine - I tried wetting the fabric I have left to see if the colour runs and it does not so why it stained my machine is a mystery - anyway I digress. As the fabric is no good for the project I had in mind I decided to use a small part of it to try out a bag pattern I got free on line - its by Rae - called the Buttercup Bag and is available here. I still have lots of the fabric left - it will have to wait until I can find a more suitable use for it.

Here is the result of my attempt at the bag - there are several things on the pattern I would do differently for the future but it is very simple and quite cute. As you can see I did not have a suitable button so I made a toggle. - I don't think I will even use this bag - perhaps it should be a giveaway??
