Another good weekend

Yesterday I joined the two Jane's for a trip to the Embroiderers Guild South West Regional Day. What a lovely day, good company, good food and two great speakers. They were Chris Berry - talking about Tudor Embroidery and Louise Gardiner - she is just the best speaker I have heard for a long time. Her work is stunning and she is so funny. Have a look at her blog by clicking here or her website here. There were a couple of sellers as you would expect from such a day and of course I had to spend. I purchased these.... a skein of turquoise sari silk, a bag of pieces of sari silk and a piece of ... well not sure what it is - a type of net beautiful. I bought these to go with the sari silk ribbons I purchased a while ago - I intend picking out the turquoise bits (you can see I have already used up all the purple ones that were included). I will also be using these two pieces of turquoise silk. The idea forming in my mind at the moment is (another distraction from the Mid Summer Fairies) is a bodice but you will have to watch this space once the fairies are complete!!
Now it's back to Oberon's breeches for one last push to get them done - the last 50 metres of cord is done so its time to stitch it down - hopefully this will be enough - I AM NOT MAKING ANY MORE!! That's been 130 metres for the breeches and 88 metres for the doublet - ENOUGH!!.

I don't know how you have the patience for all that cord Anna... it would drive me mad! I love seeing your work on your bodices and costumes... I've been working on my bodices for about 7 years and still have only three completed!
