Wiltshire Council is closing offices in Trowbridge, Devizes and Urchfont in a bid to raise the money it needs for running key services in the county.
The offices set to close in September 2012 are Bradley Road in Trowbridge, Browfort in Devizes and Urchfont Manor, which the council will be able to sell for millions of pounds.
NO - what can we do to stop this?
There don't appear to be any plans to move the adult education courses (or our group meeting place) to any other venues in Wiltshire. A friend (Clare) and I may have to come up with a proper plan for our own establishment?? We have thought about this before but maybe now we will be spurred on to do it properly.

I have never been because of the distance but it has such an excellent reputation. Does this mean that the courses they run will go too or just move to a different venue?
Devastated may be too strong a word but I am terribly disappointed if the closure is to go ahead, my C&G Distant Stitch is based there
Hi Anna,
I have received a email with information regarding Urchfont Manor from a friend. Next Tuesday there will be a cabinet meeting (Wiltshire Council). jane.scott@wiltshire.gov.uk is the chair of the committee. Use this address to voice your objection. Fingers and toes crossed. I enjoyed my time at Urchfont doing a C&G Machine Embroidery course. I would love to go back again. The food was good - grin
Best wishes
Cathy
